American Defense American Camp Eur/Afr/Mideast Asia/Pacific Camp WWII Victory Army Occ WWII
American Defense Service Medal - Instituted in 1941 for all services. Awarded to the Army for 12 months active service between Sept 8, 1939 and December 7, 1941. Awarded to the Naval services for any active duty service between the above periods. American Campaign Medal - Instituted in 1942 for all services. Awarded for service between 1941 - 1946 outside the U.S. in the American theater for 30 days, or within the continental U.S. for one year. Europe-African-Middle East Campaign Medal - Instituted in 1942 for all services. Awarded for service between 1941 - 1946 in the European-African-Middle Eastern theater for 30 days or receipt of any combat decoration. Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal - Instituted in 1942 for all services. Awarded for service between 1941 - 1946 in the Asiatic-Pacific theater for 30 days or receipt of any combat decoration. World War II Victory Medal - Instituted in 1945 for all services. Awarded for service between 1941 - 1946 in the U.S. Armed Forces. Army/Navy Occupation Medal - Instituted in 1946 & 1947 respectively. Awarded for 30 consecutive days of service in occupied territories of former enemies between 1945 -1955 (Berlin: 1945 - 1990)
